Video: Photographing Autumn in Dublin City
In this video I went for a wander with my camera around Dublin City to show that you don’t need to go to the countryside to photograph the wonders of Autumn. If you live in a city there’s plenty of Autumn colours and scenes all around you. If you liked my “Street Photo Diary” series, this is basically the same formulae only without the street photography!
Incidentally, I shot all the main video on this using an iPhone XR. With all the hype surrounding the iPhone 11 I wanted to see how my slightly older iPhone XR would work, and it turned out pretty well. I normally use a Canon G7X2 for vlogging but then I have to record the audio separately and relink it, but using my iPhone I could just record the audio and video together. I was using he back camera too, which required a bit of thinking outside the box, but it worked, and I’ve developed a simple technique for framing yourself, which I might share in another video.
The main camera I used for stills was my trusty Nikon D700. I lobe this for this kind of shoot because I can use my 28-300mm lens which is perfect because you have a long range and don’t have to change. There’s a few sills from the shoot below. (I also cheated a bit an used some older images from my archive on this too).
I was really happy with how this video came out, but I’m not sure it will do well on YouTube, so if you can like it it would really help, as more likes helps the algorithm show it more (and comments and watch time)
