Capture One Update: Capture One 21 14.3 released with Magic Brush, New Export Interface and More

Capture One Update: Capture One 21 14.3 released with Magic Brush, New Export Interface and More

Capture One today announced the latest point release for Capture One 21 and it contains a couple of new features. The company has been on a roll of late, with each point release adding new functionality to the software. This release sees a new export interface added, a new “magic brush” for making quick selections, and a much requested change to the way catalogues handle sub-folders.

The two biggest of this release are undoubtedly the re-designed export interface and the new magic brush. I give you an overview of both of these in the video below.

I’ll have more details on these in a future post, and I’ll try to do some more in-depth tutorials.

They also finally added the ability for catalogues to see the images in sub-folders when the parent folder is selected. This is something I’ve received complaints about from users for years, so it’s great to see this finally been addressed. Unfortunately, they haven’t seem to have done this for albums yet though. In addition, you can also now synchronise subfolders, so if you choose to synchronise the parent folder, the sub-folder will also synchronise.

The update is available now, and is free to current owners or subscribers of Capture One 21. When Capture One 21 first came out back in December, a lot of users complained about the lack of new features in the release, but the company has been adding new functions with each point release. If you were on the fence about upgrading after the initial release, it might be worth re-considering now. I also wonder if a subscription might be a better option now, given the way they are adding new features, although I know a lot of you prefer a perpetual licence.
