How to create Monotone, Duotone and Sepia Tone images in Capture One

How to create Monotone, Duotone and Sepia Tone images in Capture One

I was recently asked by a reader how to simulate a monotone image in Capture One so in this video I show you a technique to achieve this, as well as some other black and white tinting tricks, including how to create duo tone and sepia tone images. I also show you how to create a faded old photo look.

If you’re not sure what a monotone is, it’s basically a printing technique where you print a black and white image with a colour other than black. You can preview this in Photoshop using the duotone options. There’s no direct way of exactly doing this in Capture One, but in this video I show you a technique for getting a similar effect. I also look at some other monochrome tinting options including duotone and sepia tone.

If you don’t have Capture One, you can download a trial version here, or learn more about the available options here. If you’re looking for some high quality black and white and colour film like style packs for Capture One check out my collections on Gumroad.
