An attempt at Street Photo Vlogging that didn’t go so well

An attempt at Street Photo Vlogging that didn’t go so well

I was out shooting some street photography the other day, and I was also doing some testing on a few different things. I wanted to try out some different settings for doing “VLOG” style videos, and I still have the RX100 that I borrowed, so I figured I would try that. Unfortunately, it was also really cold and breezy, and while the picture from the RX100 is great, the sound, not so much.

The internal microphone is not great on the camera, and there’s no option for an external one, Which is a real shame because otherwise, it's actually pretty great for this kind of thing. Well, a newer one with the flip over screen would be better, but without an external microphone input, I’m not sure it would work. I could rig it up to an external recorder, but that just defeats the purpose of the small size.

Anyway, this was only a test, but I was sort of happy with the result, apart from the terrible sound. I didn’t record for very long either because it was bloody freezing, so this is quite short. I’m reluctant to make it public on my YouTube channel because of the sound quality but I think I will anyway. I thought it was interesting, and after putting the effort into it, I wanted some people to get some use out of it, so here you go.

If you think that you would like to see more of this kind of thing (done properly of course) then let me know in the comments below.
