Aug 12 Street Photography Diary No. 4

Horse and Cart on the Streets of Dublin - Sony A6000 + Canon 24-105

Here's the latest instalment in my ongoing series which previously had the somewhat unimaginative name of "Recent Street Photography". I haven't been shooting as much street photography recently, mainly because I've been travelling and doing lots of design work too. However, I still have had some time to take some shots while out and about here in Dublin.

There's no real order to these. I'd like to say there's a theme, but it's really just a random collection. Gear wise, it's a combination of Sony A6000 (mostly) with some Canon 5D Mark II thrown in there for good measure too! For some of the recent shots, I was actually trying out my recently acquired Metabones Smart Adaptor which lets me use Canon lenses on my A6000. While I've shot using Nikon lenses on the Camera before, It's nice to be finally able to use my Canon glass too. While I do like my Nikon lenses, I really don't like the manual focus rings, at least on the ones I have. There's a lot of play on them, and this makes it very hard to achieve accurate manual focus. On the anon ones, the focus ring is much better. I like the fact that the Metabones adaptor gives you full electronic control over the lens too, including activating the stabiliser.

If you're wondering why I went with the Smart adapter rather than the Speed Booster, it's because I wanted to have the option to step up to one of Sony's Full frame E-Mount cameras at some point. Also, the Speed Booster is much more expensive.
