It's the return of the not so regular Weblink Sunday!

Sunday-Blogging

Ok, so much for doing weekly roundups of interesting photography related stories. It sounds like it would be a simple thing to achieve, but …. damn you regular work and real life. Any way, the plus side is that I now have two weeks worth of interesting links to share! So, here it goes….

Jarid polin gives us a nice video showing off the new 5 stop VR on Nikon's new 70-200 f4 lens. It looks impressive, and I think this lens will sell really well if it's as good as I hope it is. Carrying around a 70-200 f2.8 can be a pain, but there are times when you need a high quality lens that doesn't weigh a ton, and if it's any way near the Canon version in terms of quality it will be a real hit.

BBC have a great article about Lomography and Film, titled: "Did the Lomo camera save film photography?" It's a really interesting read so be sure to check it out.

Check out this interesting electronic EF to E mount adaptor. It allows you to use your EF lenses on Sony's e-mount cameras. IT also gives you full control over your lens's functions and even supports IS on compatible lenses.

4/3 Rumors has a roundup of videos taken with Panasonic's new GH3. The video functionality on the GH3 looks like a real winner and I can't wait to see what people do with it once it gets out into the field more. I have a hacked GH2 and it's pretty impressive, but it suffers from some other issues beyond the data rate, but the GH3 looks like it addresses those so it should be a killer camera for video.

Speaking of video here's a nice video shot on Sony's upcoming RX1 full frame compact.

The Verge has some amazing photographs of the damage done by Sandy to Verizon's basement where a lot of their connectivity and switching equipment is. Some great shots of the team assessing and repairing the damage.

I'm really digging Polaroid's new compact camera (with built in printer!) It's very retro styled and looks gorgeous. I saw one for real life in a camera store the other day and it looks really lovely. Not sure if the pictures are any good or not, but it looks cool!!!

Finally, for some inspiration check out the great photography by a fellow Irish photographer, Johnny Patience. Aside from a seriously cool name, he's got some amazing photography.
