Venus, Jupiter & The Moon
There has been some pretty impressive astronomical phenomenon happening in the skies over Ireland the last few weeks. First we had the alignment of Jupiter and Venus. then we had the passing of Venus and now, Last night there was a really impressive display of Jupiter, Venus and The Moon lighting up the sky. I did my best to capture it, but this really doesn't do justice to the spectacular sight we had. For those interested in the technical details of how I got this shot… It was taken with Nikon D700 using my trusty and old 105mm Macro. ISO was 1600, but even with that the shutter speed was only about 80 so I braced it against the door for stability and shot off a sequence on high speed so that hopefully one would be blur free (and it was!)
